A quick note;
I am a miner and industrialist. I am not and would never use macro software to mine.
But now, thanks in part to the amazing barge nerf, my passive income is now amazing.
I go to work and fire up my second laptop. I open two clients.
I set my well tanked barges on some ice, drop a few drones and go about my daily business. Checking the miners every so often to make sure all is well.
When they are full, I dock up, unload, rinse and repeat.
Of course, the price of ice product is going to crash out in no time and this passive income will be next to nothing.
Was this really the plan? Make AFK mining so easy that people would stop using macros?
I have anticipated losing ships to gankers. But so far just a few bumpers who think they are cool and neat and have discovered some new way to make me pay them. Give me a break.

The true goal of this thread was a short discussion on cause, effect and outcome of the changes to the miners in high-sec.
The fact that AFK mining seems to be the overall outcome of the barge changes. Especially the changes to the Mackinaw.
This said outcome is the proliferation of ice miners and a drastic (Even more drastic than present) drop in the price of Ice products.
Am I going to take advantage of this? DUH!

I don't think any barge should be"Profitable" to gank in high sec . But it should not be so difficult or expensive to discourage people from going after them. Presently, it does take great expense to gank one. This should be a little more balnced. |
